Hello and thank you for stopping by to find out more about our family daycare. My name is Kathleen Peter and I would love to give you a better idea of who we are, what we do and the wonderful environment of love and learning we have for all the little ones in our care.
Wee Friends Daycare is a Christian owned and operated company. I am a proud mother of two, aunt to seven and a past president of the MOMS Club of Burtonsville. From 2006-2007, I was a volunteer parent in my daughter's first grade class. I have been married to my wonderful husband David since 1998. Dave received a Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Maryland with a concentration in Mathematics Education. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies from Washington College.
I have had the pleasure to have served as the past president of the MOMS Club of Burtonsville - a local chapter of an international organization of moms offering moms support. In 2006, I had the great priviledge of volunteering in my daughter's first grade class to assist the children in their studies. Even during the 11 years I spent working with lobbyists in Washington, DC (prior to becoming a stay-home mom) I knew that this was where I have always wanted to be. That background makes me especially sensitive to those working parents who feel the pain of leaving their little one during the day. I felt that so acutely that I opened an in-home family daycare to be with my children and to let local parents know that someone is out there who will treat their child with the love that they would if they could be with them all day.
Daycare services are provided in my Burtonsville home which is fully equipped with safe and fun activities for the children. Our hours of operation are weekdays from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. Breakfast, morning and afternoon snacks are provided.
Compliant with Maryland state licensing regulations, I have completed SIDS training and am certified in first aid and infant/child/adult CPR. I have also completed the Montgomery County Office of Child Care classes on health and non-health related child development and care. I take great pride in the care of the children that enroll in our daycare, just as I do with my own children.
